FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(MIA-0134)

Oberlin, OH, and Chestertown, NY, January 18, 2016 —MIA+BSI’s 7th Annual Countertop Fabricator Benchmarking Survey is now open. This free survey is sponsored by Cosentino USA, Kohler Co., and Tenax USA. This year’s survey was moved to January to allow companies time to assemble year-end data for 2015 before participating. The survey will remain open until February 28.

The Countertop Fabricator Benchmarking Survey is open to all countertop fabricators in North America. MIA+BSI membership is not required to participate. The survey can be completed in approximately 10-15 minutes, and all responses are strictly confidential, meaning that no individual company responses will be shared or sold. Questions will cover topics including size and scope of the company and market, production quantities, equipment, and sales. According to Peter de Kok (Granite Mountain Enterprises), who assisted with the creation of this year’s survey: “If you want to know where you fit in the North American natural stone industry, and particularly your geographical area, there is no better way to do so than benchmarking. The survey is proving its worth to the kitchen countertop sector of the industry, and we look forward to reaching other sectors of the industry in the future.”

Companies that complete the survey will receive an individualized report comparing their results with similar-sized companies. The report provides a basis for understanding and improving profitability. Survey participants will also be entered into a drawing for the following prizes:

  • Cash prizes ranging from $100 to $500 (courtesy of Granite Mountain Enterprises)
  • One of 6 Moxie® Showerhead+Wireless speakers (courtesy of Kohler Co.)

“Benchmarking studies help countertop fabricators identify areas of opportunity that have not yet been discovered or implemented. The final customized report is an invaluable business tool. Many companies find this kind of report useful when working with lenders to discuss loans and lines of credit,” said Michael Loflin, Industry Research & Information Manager at MIA+BSI.
