Natural stone is entering a pivotal moment in its global sustainability story. For the first time, stone associations from around the world are standing together through the Natural Stone Strategic Alliance (NSSA) to advance a shared goal: developing a set of industry-wide Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) that collectively represent the global stone industry. These EPDs will be compiled into a single comprehensive report to strengthen transparency and support natural stone’s position in a carbon-focused marketplace. This collaborative effort aims to deliver a unified, credible dataset that reflects the environmental performance of natural stone. The Global EPD Project will strengthen transparency, support architectural specifications, and position natural stone with greater confidence in a carbon-focused marketplace.
