2023 Colorado Study Tour
Date: September 10-14, 2023
Location: Grand Junction/Glenwood Springs Colorado
Cost: TBD
Registration is expected to open in early April 2023. Check back often for updates.
The 2023 Natural Stone Institute Colorado Study Tour will begin Sunday afternoon September 10 and continue through Wednesday night, September 13. We will be covering a lot of territory for this event and will be utilizing two hotels – one night in Grand Junction and 3 nights in Glenwood Springs. Hotel accommodations will be included in this year’s registration process and all lodging arrangements will be made for the attendees. One registration – one fee. Natural Stone Institute will arrange for all transportation between Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs hotels as part of our event travel itinerary.
Overview
A state of the art fabrication facility and historic Yule marble quarry, both run by Colorado Stone Quarries, will highlight our member stone operation visits. We’ll compete in a fun challenge at Gallegos’ Gypsum stone yard where attendees will enjoy a Poker Run game spotlighting additional NSI member companies who supply the stone yard with their materials. Women in Stone will host the next installment of their Legacy Series interviews, this time honoring Brenda Edwards of TexaStone Quarries. WIS invites all attendees to witness this special event live. The annual LIVE auction will close our event as part of a unique, western-themed evening at the Woodworth Ranch featuring open bars, lawn games and a BBQ cookout.
Registration
The registration fee will include hotel accommodations for 4 nights; all group meals including scheduled receptions, breakfasts, hosted lunches; and Wednesday night cookout and Auction. Many details are yet to be finalized and updates will be made as they develop.
Attire
All events will be casual except for the Women in Stone Legacy Series evening, for which business or cocktail attire is suggested. Appropriate footwear including closed-toe shoes should be worn for stone site visits. Western inspired attire is encouraged for Wednesday evening activities.
Travel
Ideally, air travel should be arranged to arrive by 4pm on Sunday into Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT), which is served by Allegiant, American and United airlines; and to depart on Thursday from Vail/Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) in Gypsum, which has service from American, Delta, United and Air Canada airlines. Air travel and all airport transfers to and from the hotels will be on your own.
