FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Oberlin, OH, March 20, 2026 — The Natural Stone Institute (NSI) has announced the recipients of its 2025 Individual Awards, recognizing individuals whose work shapes the natural stone industry. The awards were presented in January during StonExpo/tise in Las Vegas, where members and industry professionals gathered from around the world.

The NSI's highest honor, the Migliore Award for Lifetime Achievement, was presented to Guido Gliori of Grazzini Brothers in Eagan, MN. Over a career spanning more than four decades, Gliori has built a reputation grounded in experience and leadership, along with a longstanding commitment to the industry. A past president of the Marble Institute of America (now the Natural Stone Institute), he has contributed extensively in radon research, safety training, educational panels, and as an inspector for NSI’s Accreditation Program. His impact can be seen in both the growth of his company and the strength of the association.

The Natural Stone Institute also recognized the following individuals:

Steve Christensen, CACP of KEPCO, was named Natural Stone Craftsman of the Year. Christensen’s career reflects more than 50 years in the stone and construction trades. From early hands-on work to leading award-winning projects and mentoring future craftsmen, his dedication to quality and the craft has made a lasting impact.

Karla Forest was named the recipient of the David Fell Spirit of Service Award. Forest was recognized for her leadership and service through the Gary Sinise Foundation R.I.S.E. program. Her hands-on involvement and continued support of veterans and their families reflect the intent of this award.

Evan Cohen of Quality Marble & Granite was named the 2025 Person of the Year. Serving as Natural Stone Institute President, Cohen provided steady leadership and meaningful engagement throughout the year. His involvement supported key initiatives across the organization and strengthened alignment between the board, staff, and membership.

In addition to individual recognition, the Natural Stone Institute continues to invest in the future of the industry through its scholarship programs. These scholarships are underwritten by the Natural Stone Alliance and the Natural Stone Foundation, whose support helps expand access to education and professional development opportunities across the industry. “We are grateful for the support of the Natural Stone Alliance and the Natural Stone Foundation,” said NSI Board President Jeff Erickson. “Their investment in these scholarship programs strengthens the future of our industry by supporting the next generation of leaders.” This year, Lauren Larios of Pacific Shore Stones received the Natural Stone Scholarship, and Shannon Clarke of Classic Rock Fabrication received the Women in Stone Empowerment Scholarship.
