Living Building Challenge
Under the Materials petal of the Living Building Challenge, the Responsible Industry imperative requires certification for stone products under the Natural Stone Sustainability Standard – ANSI/NSI 373 by quarries and/or manufacturers of all dimension stone products used within the project.
Specification Language
Include a requirement for sourcing sustainably produced stone in your projects.
- Stone detailed in this section must be certified to the ANSI/NSI 373 Sustainable Production of Natural Dimension Stone standard.
- Minimum __% of permanently installed building products are sourced from companies who have third-party certified to a multi-attribute sustainability standard and/or have an EPD.
